Your data at Akhbar

Akhbar runs this school at platform.akhbr.io. This page says what we keep about you, why, where it goes, for how long, and what you can do about it. Questions or requests: hello@akhbr.io.

What we keep

  • Your name, your email, and your WhatsApp number if you give it.
  • Your country, worked out from your connection, to show prices in your currency.
  • A random id for this browser, in a cookie, kept only as a scrambled code, so a demo you tried here joins the account you make later in the same browser.
  • What you do in the course: the modules you open, your tries, their reviews and scores, your XP and your reviews to come.
  • What you write to the AI teachers, and what they answer.
  • If you choose learner memory: a short summary of your goals, what you committed to, your strengths and where you get stuck.

Why

  • To run your course and its AI teachers, sign you in, show your results and remind you before a pass ends.
  • Only if you choose learner memory: so the teachers remember you between lessons, and to send you a weekly email on where you stand.
  • Only if you tick it: marketing emails about our courses and offers.
  • Only if you tap to connect Upcloser, claim its free credits or build a proposal there: to show your Upcloser credits and proposals here, and to hand your job post to Upcloser.

Where it goes, outside Egypt

We ask your consent before any of this (Law 151 of 2020, Article 16). Each service gets only what it needs for its part:

  • Cloudflare (servers around the world): runs the school, its database, its files and its videos. Everything above passes through it.
  • Anthropic (United States): the AI teachers. It receives what you write to them and the lesson around it, to answer you.
  • Resend (United States): sends our emails, so it receives your email address and the email.
  • Our own customer records server at Hetzner (Finland): who holds the course, with your name, email and phone.
  • Upcloser, Akhbar's own proposal tool at closer.akhbr.io: only after your tap, it receives your email, the job posts you hand to it, and which proposals you say you sent. Upcloser asks for its own consent once before it writes anything for you.
  • Stripe (United States): card payments in US dollars, if you pay in dollars.
  • PostHog (United States): counts how the school is used, which pages open and which buttons are tapped, and can replay a visit with everything you type hidden. It knows you by an account number, never your name or email, and never sees your internet address.

In Egypt

  • Paymob: card and wallet payments in Egyptian pounds, if you pay in pounds.

How long

  • What you write to the AI teachers is erased automatically 12 months after your last visit.
  • Your learner memory summary stays until you delete it in Settings. Turning learner memory off stops it growing; deleting it removes it.
  • Your account and your progress stay while your account is active. Ask us and we delete them.

What you can do

  • See, correct or delete your data: write to hello@akhbr.io.
  • See or delete your learner memory, and turn it off, in Settings.
  • Withdraw any consent at any time, in Settings or by email. Marketing emails also stop from the link at the bottom of each one.

If this changes

If we change what we keep or where it goes, we ask you again at your next sign in.

Who processes your payment

If you pay from outside Egypt, your payment is processed by Telacont LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, USA, through Stripe, and your card statement shows TELACONT. If you pay from inside Egypt, your payment is processed by Mo Haytham Strategies and Coaching, Commercial register 57707, Tax ID 780669274, Cairo, Egypt, through Paymob. Neither company stores your full card number; Stripe and Paymob handle the card details.
